Welcome to my personal website !
Soccer has always been very important in my life and it has made me to travel and see the world. Having left Kriens for Sursee I became a member of the Swiss national team. Scouts spotted my talent and I was given the opportunity to go and live, study and play soccer in the United States. At the Ohio State University I had a wonderful time.
In 2008 I came back to Switzerland with a degree Bachelor of Science International Business and also with a lot of human and soccer experience. I made my come back in the Swiss League with FC Zürich Frauen but my goal was to reach higher again. I found a new challenge in signing for Olympique Lyonnais in France where I could also perfect speaking french. The first months I had to adapt to the lifestyle and habits in a new city and environment. Being eliminated in the semi finals of the UEFA Women's Cup by FCR 2001 Duisburg was a disappointment but at the end of the season we won the French league title so we were present in the new UEFA Women's Champions League!
This new competition dominated my first full season in France and brought a new highlight to my career when we reached the final in Getafe in May 2010. In Spain we didn't win the trophy but we came very close as we were only denied in the penalty shoot-out by winners Turbine Potsdam. In June 2010 we prolonged our French league title so we were there again to challenge for our first European trophy and in May 2011 at Craven Cottage we made history and won our first ever European silverware. I even scored the second goal in the UWCL final against Tubine Potsdam at Fulham.
After that amazing win and with the success of my teammates at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 in the bag we started the new campaign full of confidence. Our aim this time was to win all three competitions we participated in, not an easy task as the season is very long. Winning the French Women's Cup against our rivals Montpellier in Bourges was the first step towards glory before we flew off to Munich to defend our UWCL trophy on German soil against 1.FFC Frankfurt. In the Olympiastadion before a crowd of more than fifty thousand people we were dominated in the beginning of the game but we managed to turn things around and take a decisive lead already before half time. At the end everybody of our team was celebrating a second European victory. But the season was not over yet as we also wanted to prolongue our French league title. FCF Juvisy-Essonne proved to be hard contenders this time and on the final day of the season we had to go and win the title on their pitch. A draw was sufficient but a defeat would have ruined all our efforts. We didn't want to spoil our own party so we beat our challengers and achieved the first treble in the history of French Women's Soccer, an unique performance we were all very proud of.
I also wanted to do well with my country Switzerland and eventually qualify for the UEFA Women's Euro 2013 in Sweden. With Germany in the group we always knew this was going to be difficult. Unfortunately this dream will not come true as we were eliminated and Spain clinched a play-off spot at the end of June 2012. With the Swiss national women's team we then had to focus on a new challenge: prepare well to be ready for the Qualifying games of the FIFA Women's World Cup 2015 in Canada. In a group with Euro semi-finalists Denmark and Euro quarter-finalists Iceland we managed to qualify for the first time ever for this event and in Canada we reached the last sixteen after an amazing adventure while the perspective to go for the first time to the Olympics alongside France or Germany remained open.
In the summer of 2015 I have moved from Lyon in France to Wolfsburg in Germany as I wanted to experience a new challenge in my career. I am excited to start with my new club VfL Wolfsburg in the highly estimated Bundesliga and off course I hope to do as well over here as I did in France.
On this website you can read about my career, you can see pictures, you can watch me play, you can find press releases and you will be updated with the latest news of the coming season. In my diary I will regularly tell you about my views, my feelings and everything else that is important to me. Of course I hope that the new season will bring as much adventure, emotion, tension and pleasure as the many years I have been in soccer before. So have fun when you surf through all this pages.
